For Sandra Carr, hairdressing is a passion. Determined to make a difference in the lives of all those she comes in contact with, she has traveled the globe as a hair designer, master colorist, photo stylist, and national educator.

Her dynamic talent and exuberant personality have driven her thirty-six year journey in the hairdressing and fashion industry to great heights. Her many accolades include three nominations for the North American Hairdressing Awards, often referred to as the Academy Awards of the hairdressing industry. She took home top honors in the areas of Makeover and Color Make-over and was awarded the winning title of North American Make-over Artist of the Year.

At Haircolor USA, an International hair color event, Sandra again took top honors as Colorist of the Year. This career highlight was enhanced by winning yet another award, Most Motivational Educator, an award which focused on her innate ability to combine enthusiasm and artistic talent to inspire and motivate others to seek new professional heights.

As an artistic Educator for Matrix for the past twenty-eight years, Sandra has won the title of Matrix Guest Artist of the Year, Colorist of the Year, and Classic Artist of the Year. She represented Matrix as their National Color Spokesperson, and was a featured columnist in the "Color Talk" section of the company's Matrix Magazine.

Her passion for the industry has allowed her to lead the way in the creation of new fashion trends. These creations have graced the covers of leading industry publications … Modern Salon, American Salon, Haircolor and Design, and Process Magazine. Her expertise has been captured in interviews with fashion editors, used in runway shows, and her designs have visually served Matrix in their videos and ad campaigns. Additionally, Sandra has showcased her talents as a guest artist on television programs in the United States and Canada.

Pushing herself to "design outside of the box," Sandra's photographic work reveals her ability to create a wide array of styles from editorial, to makeover, and lifestyle designs. Her creativity is regularly found on covers and in consumer hairdressing publications.

With a clear mission to share her world-class expertise not only with customers, but also with the local and global community­–pro bono work has always been a central focus of Sandra's life and career. Quoted in Modern Salon, Sandra explained, "There are so many ways that we can use this industry to make a difference."

Sandra recently traveled to Thailand to share her talents, She cut hair for the children and staff at two orphanages and worked with under-resourced local hairdressers to update their skills and techniques.

Sheer Professionals, Inc., the salon owned by Sandra and her business partner Donna Beam, was recognized with a nomination for the Global Salon Business Awards held in London, England. The salon was awarded with a semi-finalist title. Their business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit were again highlighted in Salon Today magazine where they were honored as one of the "20 Most Intriguing Salon Owners" in the country and as one of the "Top 200 Fastest Growing Salons" in the industry.
